Dr. Susan Mathew
RHEUMATOLOGIST
ABOUT ME
A native of the Houston area, Dr. Mathew is thrilled that she is able to give back to a community that has given her so much professionally, spiritually, and personally. She understands the changing demographics of the area and is sensitive to the needs of all cultures in this growing and diverse metropolitan society. Her interests include legislation to improve the quality of health for all Texans and quality of practice for physicians which ultimately improves the lives of patients.
Her ultimate goal is to help people achieve their functional goals and live a better quality of life.
She completed her residency at Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh, PA and Rheumatology fellowship at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. Both of which are clinical campuses of Temple University.
She is active in multiple professional organizations including being a fellow of the American College of Rheumatology, Texas Medical Association, and the Fort Bend Medical Society. She on staff with Methodist Sugar Land Hospital and Memorial Hermann Sugar Land. She currently serves as the Fort Bend Medical Society Secretary/Treasurer 2019-present.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family. She loves being outdoors, traveling, and keeping active by jogs and playing tennis. She is strong believer of community outreach and giving back to the community and was raised in a family that instilled those qualities.
